Share prices tumble

The introduction of the Government's new Kiwi stock sent share prices reeling in busy trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. The N.Z.U.C. industrial index lost 10.54 points, in contrast to its equally big gains since the devaluation of the New Zealand dollar on Tuesday a week ago. Brierley Investments fell 17c, Dominion Breweries 7c, Fletcher Challenge 6c, and N.Z. Forest Products sc. Among the 15 rises was Morrison-P.I.M. up 40c to 380 c after the news that Brierley had acquired a significant stake in the company. Other issues to firm were Mair, New Zealand Farmers Fertilizer, and Wilson Neill. The mining and oil sector was also weaker, its index easing 3.28 points.
