Music Hall venture planned in Chch
A Music Hall evening has been planned for next month by the Canterbury branch of the 3rd New Zealand Division Association. The branch secretary, Mr Ray Lewis, says that the Music Hall is a new venture for the association and one which it is hoped will raise funds. To be held on April 12 at the Carlton Hotel, the Music Hall will feature the Christchurch Theatre Workshop, Strolling Players, and Gillivan Varieties. The evening’s entertainment has been organised by Mr John Collins, who will
take part in the activities. Mr Collins is well known in Christchurch, according to Mr Lewis, especially for his work with senior citizens’ groups. Funds raised by the evening will be used for hospital visits, comforts, and welfare work. Mr Lewis says that the evening will be a “real professional type old-style Music Hall.” Tickets are selling fast, but can be obtained from the Christchurch R.S.A. office, the association’s secretary, or Mr Collins.
