Nine months jail for 70c robbery
PA Dannervirke A 70-cent robbery cost a Dannervirke youth nine months in jail when he appeared for sentence in the District Court at Dannevirke this week. Edward Rangi Chase, aged 18, unemployed, had earlier been found guilty of robbing Phillip Aaron Lenox of 70c at Dannevirke, on January 6. Chase was also sentenced
to nine months jail for assaulting a female at Dannevirke on January 23. The sentences are to be served concurrently. Judge A. J. Sheehan said Chase had been shown leniency over the past 12 to 18 months with various kinds of sentences imposed and had had every, opportunity to curb his anti-social instincts. The Court had run out of patience, the Judge said.
