Horticultural options for Amuri farmers
Horticultural options for farmers will be the subject of a seminar at Culverden on March 22. The seminar has been designed to introduce farmers to a wide range of horticultural crops, to highlight practical considerations, and to examine the market potential and limitations of horticulture. A guest speaker in the marketing section will be Mr Westbrook Haines, executive
director of the Horticultural Export Development Council. Other speakers will include growers who will discuss their experiences with various crops, and business and market researchers. The seminar has been organised by the Amuri branch of Federated Farmers, with assistance from the Agricultural Training Council and the M.A.F. It will start at 1.30 p.m. and will be divided into three sessions — choosing a crop, practical aspects and ' markets and marketing.
