FACT Scientists are concerned that New Zealand soil reserves of magnesium are being seriously depleted. With intensification of pastoral, mixed cropping and horticultural farming systems, we are steadily creating a national soil magnesium shortage. Magnesium is an essential major nutrient lor animal health and plant growth. Critically low magnesium is the prime cause of hypomagnesaemia. Depleted soil reserves of magnesium also lead to production losses from retarded plant growth, poor stock thrift and performance and contribute to a host of other metabolic disorders. RVCT Regular applications of dolomite magnesium fertilizer, to replace magnesium losses, is the only long term solution to i an inevitable deficiency problem. Dolomite provides 11% plant » available magnesium, 24% plant available calcium and H has 100% liming value. Dolomite is a licensed animal remedy for H the prevention of stock magnesium deficiency.
