NZPA-Reuter Harare The Zimbabwean opposition leader, Joshua Nkomo, vanished from his home in Bulawayo at the week-end as troops and the police swooped on black suburbs of the provincial capital of Matabeleland. Officials of Mr Nkomo's Zimbabwe African People's Union said that they did not know’ where the 65-year-old politician, commonly called the “father of Zimbabean nationalism," could be contacted. Government officials could not be reached for comment.
