Water polo to Australia

The Australian ■ junior water polo team clinched a place in the world championships in Spain later this year when it easily beat New Zealand. 15-5. at the Queen Elizabeth II Park on Saturday evening. This was the second of the two games to find the team to go to Spain and while New Zealand was outclassed it did improve from one game to the next and actually outscored the visitors in the final quarter. The greater experience of the Australians was also very obvious. Scorers for Australia were Dean Stockwell 4. Peter Manson 3. lan Buchanan 2. John Ogilvie 2. Simon Ashley, Adrian Galligan. Jereniy Allan and Charles McKenzie. For New Zealand. lan Ansell 2. Neil Watson, Phil Erickson and Craig McGuiness. A third, practice game was played yesterday and Australia had another big win. this time 18-1.
