Geoff Lienert (Timaru) left, and Rob Grant (Toe H) lead the field at the start of the Canterbury Marathon Championships at Halswell yesterday. Lienert was later disqualified for taking a wrong turning, and Grant withdrew. The winner was Mel Radcliffe (New Brighton) who completed the course in 2h 31 min 43sec.
