Dalmacia favourite
NZPA staff correspondent Sydney The brilliant Sir Tristram four-year-old. Dalmacia. is the favourite for today’s ,1600 m Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm. Dalmacia. trained by Neville Begg, scored an impressive first-up victory in the 1400 m Apollo Stakes at Randwiek last start. The main danger for Dalmacia will be Rare Form and the New Zealand-bred Allez Bijou. In Melbourne. Tudor Sky will be having her first Australian start in the Oakleigh Plate. Trained by part-owner. Jim Gibbs, Tudor Sky has turned in some great trackwork at Epsom during the week in preparation for the race. Over 1000 m she recorded 60s. the 600 m in 35.55. Tudor Sky, however, has drawn a wide barrier at 13:
She will though have the services of Harry White. Also in the Oakleigh is the former New Zealand galloper, Count Ajax, which won over 1000 m at Mornington on Wednesday. The Alvaro gelding, Astrolin, part-owned ■by Linda Jones, is second favourite for the St George Stakes, after good wins over the Christ-mas-New Year period and in the Toyota Cup.
