Jets collide

Two Royal Air Force Harrier jets collided in flight over an open field killing two of the three crewmen aboard, said the British Ministry of Defence. There were no injuries to civilians and no damage to property on the ground. The two Harrier jets crashed while flying at between 1800 and 2500 metres, about 6.4 km north of Peterborough. The jets were on a air-combat training mission from a nearby R.A.F. base in Wittering, Cambridgeshire. — London.
