Dab Chick will be popular
Special correspondent Invercargill Dab Chick, winner of the Gore and Invercargill cups earlier in the season, will be a popular choice for the Allan Brown Breeders Stakes, first leg of the Invercargill T.A.B. double today. The smart Dancer George mare has had time to freshen since her exertions at the Forbury Park meeting and should appreciate the slight drop in class here. Joy Del. one of the hardiest and most consistent mares in commission, is the one expected to make a race of it with her. Her Gore third was further evidence that she has trained on well since compiling such a fine holiday record.
Risdon Lea. placed in two of her last four starts, appeals most of the others. She can unwind a strong finishing kick when allowed plenty of time to find her feet.
Two promising race mares in Starline and Lili's Choice will dispute favouritism for the Blampieds Furnishing Pace.' the second leg of the double.
