Thriller Dee to attempt record
Special correspondent Auckland Len Robinson, the trainer of Thriller Dee, expects the national mile record for trotters to be given a shake at Alexandra Park tonight. Thriller Dee. New Zealand’s best trotting mare at present, will attempt to break the record of Imin 58.85. set by Nigel Craig in 1977, in a time trial at 5.30 p.m. She will be driven by Peter Wolfenden and will have the assistance of Heasan as a galloping prompter. Robinson said yesterday Thriller Dee was in great fettle and he would be disappointed if she did not break 2min at least.
