Lucozade due for victory
Special correspondent Wellington
Lucozade should return to the winning list when he contests the President's Handicap, first leg of the Napier Park T.A.B. double at Hastings tomorrow.
Lucozade's recent racing has been at Trentham, where his last start produced a battling sixth in the Terrace Regency Handicap. Before that he was fourth in the 2200 m Summer Handicap, no more than a length and a half from the eventual winner. Stylish Dude.
Third to Commissionaire and Suttle Knight in the Pahiatua Weight-For-Age Stakes before his Trentham runs, Lucozade was a narrow trial winner at Hastings on Tuesday and he should hold too many trumps for his
rivals. Glenamana broke through for a overdue win at Wanganui at his last start. It was a game win as the horse had raced three wide for most of the journey and he still came away in the straight to win handsomely. Upset Wairoa Cup winner, Claremont Wonder, should ensure a good gallop throughout and this would suit the up and coming Dowl-ing-trained mare, Paleface. She has won her last three impressively and although rising in the grades should give a good account of herself. Macahan and the veteran. Clive Comet, look the best of the remainder. The speedster, Le Cadeau. looks set to win the Stewards Handicap, the second leg of the double
