Protection for victim of alleged rape

PA Hamilton The victim of an alleged gang rape in Hamilton this week would be given police protection, said a Hamilton C. 1.8. spokesman yesterday. He also confirmed that police executed a second search warrant on the house where the rapes were alleged to have taken place. Seven out-of-town motorcycle gang members charged with rape in connection with the incident yesterday had remands in custody overturned. Mr Justice Bisson, in the High Court at .Hamilton, granted bail for the group. Each was allowed bail of $2OOO, with a similar surety, and was ordered to report daily to the police, one to the Upper Hutt station, the others to the Christchurch police.
