Swim records broken

PA '*■• Hastings Three records were broken at the opening session of the New Zealand age-group swimming championships in Hastings-yesterday. The hrst, in the third race of the morning, went to Anthony Beks, of Canterbury, in the boys 15-years 100 metres breaststroke in 1:13.14. Beks sliced two seconds off the old mark set last year.

The next record to fall was shared by two Wellingtonians in a tight finish to the boys 15-years 200 metres butterfly. Mark Haimoana was awarded the title, but both he and Mark Ennor were given the same time of 2:16.56. Wayne Sullivan, of Auckland, broke the third record in winning the boys 13-years 100 metres breaststroke in 1:15.94. He slashed the old mark by eight seconds.
