Public Notices CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL DOG CONTROL AND HYDATIDS FEES 1983/84 IN accordance with the provisions of the Doc Control and Hvdatids Act 1982. the Christchurch City Council has prescribed the foliowine fees to be paid for dogs required to be registered in the district for the registration year commencing April 1. 1983. Every person who owns a doe shall make an application to the territorial authority in whose district the dog is ordinarily kept to register the dog not’later than the Ist day of April in every year. 1 - For guide dogs, certified by the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind as a guide dog or under training as a guide dog: Dog Control fee. Nil 2- "Hearing Ear Dogs" certified by the Hearing Association as being a hearing ear dog or under training as a hearing ear dog. Dog Control fee. Nil 3- For all neutered dogs on production of a statement certifying the dog has been neutered. Dog Control fee: Until April 30. 1983; $2B. After April 30. 1983; $42. Note: -Neutered dog" means a dog that has been spayed or castrated: and does not include a dog that has been vasectomised. 4- For all other dogs. Dog Control fee: Until April'3o.l9B3: $33. After April 30. 1983: $47. A refund of part of the.baslc registration fee for a dog maybe claimed during the registration year if the dog is subsequently neutered and a veterinary surgeon's certificate in respect of that animal is produced. (a i Where a dog is of the age of 3 months or less the application to register shall be made before the dog attains the age of 3 months. (b) Where any dog Is required lo be registered under Clause s(a) on or after the Ist day of May in any year, the fee payable shall be one twelfth of the annual fee for each month remaining in the registration year after the date of such requirement. (c) Where the fee for the registration of any dog for any year is paid and the dog dies before the commencement of'or during that year, the Council shall refund. upon written request, in the case of a dog that dies before the commencement of the year, the full lee paid. and. in the case of a dog that dies during the year the appropriate part of that fee. The- part fee refundable shall be one twelfth of the annual fee for each complete month remaining in the registration year after the date of application for the refund. 6- following concessions and charges are prescribed for the above registration period: For a person whose household harbours only one dog and is maintained, solely from receipt of a state benefit on economic grounds, provided that they have not sufficient income to reduce the maximum benefit? the fee is' reduced by $O.OO (b) Collar Charge $3.00 (c) Charge for issuing a replacement disc or label, $2.00 (d) A licence to keep 3 or more dogs. $15.00. 7- Any application to register a dog must be paid on the form provided by the Council and signed by or on behalf of the owner. Copies will be posted to all known dog owners on March 1,1983, and will be available from the City Health Department. (2) Address at which the dog is ordinarily kept. <3; Description of the dog including the name, breed, colour, age. sex (and whether the dog is neutered or not). (4) A description of any tattoo of other permanent identification on the dog. 9- A statutory declaration is necessary in respect of all claims made under subclauses s(c) and 6(a). Civic Offices. 163 Tuam Street. 10- Dog Control and Hydatids Act 1982 provides that every person who owns a dog shall make an application to the Council, in whose district the dog is ordinarily kept, to register the dog not later than April 1. in every year. 11- an unregistered dog is purchased or otherwise acquired. the application to register the dog shall be made forthwith or before the date on which the dog attains the age of 3 months, whichever is the later. 12- dog shall be deemed to be registered until the appropriate fee has been paid and a receipt and disc issued. 13- No fees are payable in respect of transfers of ownership or change of address but notification in writing of such change is necessary within 14 days.
