Sharp market reversal;
The buoyant trading seen on the New Zealand stock market earlier this week came to an abrupt halt yesterday, and prices turned round sharply. The volume of trading and the value of the shares traded was not as high as on previous days this week. Falls outnumbered rises more than two to one. with leading shares prominent among the falls. Williamson Jeffery stood out among the rises, and LWR and Bunting were other leaders to chalk up gains. Among the falls were the breweries. Brierlev, Fletcher. NZFP. NZSB. and Waitaki. Mining and oil shares were significantly weaker on balance.
