Landmark names new director
Mr David Gascoigne, a 43-year-old lawyer, has been appointed a new director of Landmark Properties. Ltd. the new Auckland-based listed company established by Mr Ollie Newland and chaired by Sir George Chapman. Mr Gascoigne and Sir George both resigned their directorships from Property Securities. Ltd. in 1981. after unsuccessfully objecting to
the terms of a takeover bid from City Realties, Ltd. The Landmark board now consists of Sir George as chairman. Mr Newland as general manager, Mr Gascoigne, and Mr David Ross. Mr Gascoigne is a senior partner of the Wellington law firm Watts Patterson. He is also deputy chairman of the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council.
