Hawke assailed
NZPA Sydney Labour’s "big spending" policies on tax-cuts, health care, and public works spelt national economic ruin, the Australian Prime Minister. Mr Malcolm Fraser, and Treasurer. Mr John Howard, said yesterday. The Queensland Premier, Mr Joh Bjelke-Petersen, said that his state could lose its free hospital system under a Hawke government. Labour’s election platform as "thoroughly deceitful" and likely to cause great harm to all Australians. Mr Fraser said that Mr Hawke had come forward with a big spending plan that would have made the former Labour Prime Minister. Gough Whitlam. “appear like a Scrooge.” But he predicted that Australians would not fall for Labour's “three card trick" and said that the Party's proposals had guaranteed a Government victory on March 5.
