Chch men on rape charge
PA Hamilton Seven men appeared in the District Court at Hamilton yesterday to face one charge each of rape. David Martin John Clark, aged 29, a self-employed contractor. Nicholas William Oosterbaan. aged 26, an unemployed beneficiary, Anthony Leo Scully, aged 29. a labourer. Kevin Daryl Smith, aged 27. an unemployed demolition worker, Arnold Lance Smith, aged 26. an unemployed gardener, Gary Twyman, aged 25. a labourer, all of Christchurch, and Peter Joseph Phillips, aged 27, an Upper Hutt electrician. appeared before Judge M. J. Green on charges of raping the complainant at Hamilton on or about February 16.
They were remanded in custody to appear again on February 24. A depositions hearing has been set for March 29.
