Princess to speak to outback children
NZPA London The Princess of Wales will broadcast to schools, stations, and townships on outback radio when the Royal couple start their Australian tour next month at Alice Springs, the “Daily Mail” reports. This was revealed by Buckingham Palace yesterday as it gave details of the couple's tour of New Zealand and Australia from March 21 to April 30. The “Daily Express” reveals that the Princess will include a couple of bikinis in her luggage for the trip. ■ The “Express” also discloses that a list of foods that she dislikes has been sent to all local organisers in Australia and New Zealand. Menus reportedly have been
printed and examined by Palace officials. The Princess likes salads,
fruit, and light meals, generally.
Prince William’s luggage on the Royal Australian Air Force Boeing 707 V.I.P. jet to Australia includes cases of nappies, baby-food bottles, potties, and plenty of clothes. Prince Charles is expected to play a chukka or two in Australia and. the “Express” says, will pack his polo gear for the trip.
The Princess will also have boxes and boxes of gloves in her baggage. They will help cut down on the wear and tear of all those handshakes.
The “Express” says that the organisers are worried about “the unpredictability of the Australian public.”
“Aussies show a marked lack of reverence for status,” it says.
