Attractive line scarce
Few lines of attractive wellbred sheep were offered at the Addington market yesterday. The majority of the adult varding comprised ewes in light condition. Although a reasonablesized gallery followed the sale, buying power for the lighter sheep was weak. Heavy ewes looked good buying at prices of up to $l5. but many light sheep in poor condition sold from $4 to $lO. A line of Romneys easily topped the two-tooth section with $24.80. Corriedales sold to $l9 and many sales were between $l5 and $l7. An attractive line of Perendales sold to $l7.
A small yarding of store lambs caused va'lues to rise by $1 compared with last week's market. A total of 7170 lambs was offered (11.000 last week).
Most lambs were of small to
medium size and few heavylambs were yarded. Buying power came mainly from local farmers.
An outstanding line of shorn Coopworths sold to $20.50. but most lambs made from $l2 to $l4. with light lambs under $9. The two-tooth varding totalled 1500 and adults 11,368.
