Japanese car up in price
PA Wellington A Wellington car assembler has announced the first of what are expected to be substantial price increases for Japanese cars. Currency fluctuations involving the respective values of the New Zealand dollar and the Japanese yen are to blame for the price rises. The Mitsubishi Tredia, front-wheel drive and powered by a 1.6 litre engine, is the . first car to see a dramatic movement in price. Todd motors has told its dealers of price rises at almost $9OO for the car. The Tredia GL rises from $12,995 to $13,769, Tredia GLS from $13,960 to $14,830, and the GLS auto from $14,560 to $15,430.
