Haircut minus one
Two losses were announced in the rock world this week — Nick Heyward the cheekyblond singer in Haircut 100. has left the group: and Thin Lizzy will disband next month.
Haircut 100. whose debut album "Pelican West" sold well in New Zealand, are recording the follow-up. Heyward decided to leave during the sessions, saying that it was time for a “new project." Some of the band have accused him of wasting time and money during the recording. the percussionist, Mark Fox. will be their new singer. No-one has been added to the line-up.
Thin Lizzy, always one of the better “rock” bands, will split at the end of a March tour of Britain, says their singer-bassist, Irishman Phil Lynott.
Their career began at the start of the 19705, although the mid-decade hits “The Boys Are Back In Town" and “Jailbreak” really established them. Said Lynott: "I feel sick about it but there comes a time when you must move on to other things."
