Petrol shipment due

A special shipment of 29,000 tonnes of premiumgrade petrol is due to arrive at Lyttelton on Monday because of the shut down at the Marsden Point refinery. The extra shipment was arranged by oil companies at their monthly meeting, said a spokesman for Shell Oil New Zealand,. Ltd, from Wellington yesterday. “It was apparent that a special shipment was necessary while Marsden Point was out, although there is no shortage,” said the spokesman.

The petrol is coming from Brazil in the new 34,000tonne tanker Osco Stream.
