Three players were unbeaten after the first day yesterday of the Canterbury women's bowls first-year players' tournament. They are I. Beattie (Morrison Avenue). B. Downs (Papanui) and R. Robertson (Rangiora). Another 11 players will resume as one-lifers when play
continues at Belfast today. They are K. Joines (Sumner). B. Smith (Woolston W.M.C.). L. Mills (Shirley). J. Robertson (Riccarton Racecourse). M. Barrett (St Martins). L. Mitchell <St Albans). M. Mclntyre (Rakaia). J. Upham (Oxford). N. Spittle (Burwood). B. O'Donnell (Burnside) and R. Reid (United).
