Keeler and tug collide in harbour
The 75-year-old steam tug Lyttelton and a yacht collided in Lytteton's inner harbour on Sunday afternoon. The Marine Division of the Ministry of Transport is investigating the incident, which happened just inside the moles about 3.50 p.m. The keeler Crusade, owned by the Commodore bf the Banks Peninsula Cruising Club. Mr A. K. Archer, suffered minor damage in the incident. Marine Division officers talked to the parties concerned yesterday. A preliminary report on the incident would be sent to the Minister of Transport. Mr Gair, said the division's regional marine officer, Mr Bruce Nelson. The Minister would decide whether to hold a formal inquiry into the incident, but this did not usually happen in minor cases. Captain P. G. A. Phear. a master of the Chathams trader Holmdale, was guest skipper of the Lyttelton on Sunday. She was returning from her usual Sunday afternoon cruise to Lyttelton Heads when the colfison happened.
