Man shot in hotel fight
PA Palmerston North A shotgun blast wounded a man in the legs after a gang confrontation in Palmerston North on Saturday evening. The injured man was listed as satisfactory in hospital yesterday. The shot was fired by a gang member in what is believed to have beeh retaliation against a group of
people drinking in the public bar of the Commercial Hotel, in the centre of the city.. About six people, some armed with weapons including a truncheon, and one wearing a mask, entered the bar about 7.50 p.m. A fight broke out. The police said yesterday that no-one had been arrested so far.
