Runaway trailer kills man
A Lyttelton man was killed when a runaway trailer struck his car in Dyers Road, Bromley, at 12.15 p.m. on Saturday. He was
Charles Henery Boyd, aged 57, married, of 1 Hawkhurst Road, Lyttelton.
The police said that a tandem trailer broke free from an oncoming heavy truck, crossed the road, and struck Mr Boyd’s car headK on.
He was the only occupant of the car, which was badly damaged.
