Viscountess Galway dies
NZPA staff correspondent London . The Dowager Viscountess Galway, widow of a former Governor-General of New Zealand, has died in Yorkshire, aged 92. Viscount Galway, who died in 1943, was Governor-Gen-eral from 1935 to 1941. Viscountess Galway, whose interest in social work while she was in New Zealand was commemorted in the Lady Galway Guild, served in the Red Cross during World War I. She was a Maid of Monour to Queen Alexandra for three years before her marriage in 1922. Lord and Lady Galway had a son who died in 1971, and three daughters. The present Viscount Galway lives in Canada. Lady Galway lived at Serlby Hall, Bawtry, in Yorkshire.
