B.H.P. deal with Iran
NZPA Melbourne The Broken Hill Proprietary Co.. Ltd. has concluded its first steel sale to Iran since 1979. a companv spokesman said. B.H.P. will export 105.000 tonnes of steel slabs worth about sAust2o million in the next few months from its
Whyalla works in South Australia to be used in making pipelines. B.H.P. used to export between 100.000 and 300.000 tonnes of steel a year to Iran before the overthrow of the Shah. The last sales in 1979 totalled 50.000 tonnes against 191.000 the previous year.
