Flutterboard fatality
PA Auckland The body of a. young man who disappeared when he lost his grip on a flutterboard off Eastern Beach five days ago was recovered off the Mellons Bay reef early yesterday. He was Philip Stevens, aged 22. of Ladies Mile, Remuera. Mr Stevens, a nonswimmer. was thought to have stepped into a hole at the end of a tidal flat while in the water with his girlfriend and her sister, both also non-swimmers.
