Classic romantic tale on radio
The story, "First Love." bv the great Russian novelist. Ivan Turgenev, is a classic of romantic fiction which has been dramatised most sympathetically for radio bv’the BBC. Vladimir is only 16 when he falls in love’ with the flirtatious, imperious Zinaida next door. She is 21 and both teases and encourages him. As he is entangled in adult passions, he is being used with a ruthlessness he cannot begin to understand. The play can be heard on the Concert programme at 9.08 tonight. ‘Crazy World’ Special entertainment for the young will continue this week on the Concert programme and regional National programme stations. Dubbed "Crazy World" and presented by the actor. Michael Wilson, the programmes, starting al 9.05 a.m. today, are a miscellany of songs, stories, jokes and interviews. "Crazy World" is followed at 9.25 a.m. by "Grampa’s Place” for the very young listener.
