Chief stipe, to retire
PA Wellington The chief stipendiary steward of the Racing Conference. Mr Arthur Bird, will retire at the end of March. His retirement will end a 31-year association with the conference as a stipendiary steward. The first 15 of those years was as a part-time officer, the last 16 as a member of the stipendiary stewards’ panel. Mr Bird has been chief stipendiary steward for the last three years.
