Busier N.Z. market
The New Zealand sharemarket ended the short trading week on a busier note, but prices remained easy. Heavy trading in Cue Energy options at a steady 7c each accounted for 41 per cent of the total turnover, and pushed the volume in the mining and oil sector higher than for industrials. The ordinary Cue shares firmed 1c on an otherwise mixed mining and oil market. Sanford eased a further 5c to 265 c. having lost 15c on Thursday. Australian issues were firmer in line with the bullish trend on exchanges across the Tasman. The N.Z.U.C. industrial index eased 3.24 points to 629.67, but the mining index rose 1.21 points to 71.84.
