Campaign in Melbourne
The Rangiora trainer, Colin McDonald, has left for Melbourne with Commander Crockett, which will contest a rich series for trotters at Moonee Valley in the next few weeks. Commander Crockett was accompanied by Hail Crockett and Stormy, slow-class trotters which will have plenty of opportunities in Victoria. Stormy Morn and Sir Castleton will not make the trip. They will remain in New Zealand to be prepared for the Inter-Dominion carnival in March. Stormy Morn is to be eased for a week or two, while Sir Castleton will probably return home early in January.
