Australian industrials firm
NZPA Sydney Industrial shares firmed on the promise of lower interest rates while resource stocks eased on the Sydney Stock Exchange yesterday. The all-ordinaries index closed steady at 485.5; the all-industrials was up 2.5 points at 621.8; and the allresources was down 2.1 points at 375.7. Leading gold stocks firmed with Central Norseman up 30c to 830. GMK . ended 26c up at 920. Poseidon added 20c to 570. and Emperor 12c to 175, while Peko lost 10c to 590. BHP fell 8c to 628, CSR
rose 7c to 295 and Bougainville added 5c to 190. CRA fell 10c to 355 after 2.3 million shares were sold in Melbourne. Oil and gas stocks eased, with Santos down 10c at 520 while Oil Company of Australia added 2c to 38.
