Seismic survey ends
A seismic survey of the offshore area from Banks Peninsula to Otago Peninsula has been completed by the BP, Shell, and Todd consortium. The survey, in support of petroleum licences, was completed on December 27, about two months ahead of schedule, by the survey vessel Western Odyssey. The results of the survey.
which started in November, would not be available for about three months, said a spokesman for BP, Mr Kelly Griffiths, last evening. It was the first seismic survey of the area since 1974. About 6000 k- of seismic data were collected using sound equipment, giving a continuous profile of the geological structure below the surface.
