Nudist rally opened by Mr Dail Jones
PA Auckland The member of Parliament for Helensville, Mr D. M. J. Jones, had no engagement and so decided to accept an invitation to open a nudist rally. Fully clothed for the occasion, Mr Jones mingled with nudists before opening the Auckland Outdoor Health Club's inter-club rally at Ranui. Speaking to reporters, Mr Jories said that there was nothing incongruous about being a campaigner against
a magazine like "Peathouse." and opening the rally. "I think this (nudism) is a very healthy activity. 1 have a number of these clubs in my electorate. If everyone was as well behaved as they are. I am sure New Zealand would be a better country." he said. A distinction had to be drawn between the type of material in "Penthouse" and nudism, Mr Jones said, "The material in Penthouse is contrived and gymnastic but this is natural." he said.
