Healing power
For centuries a few people have been able to affect the course of disease by mental or spiritual means — to heal, for example, by the laying on of hands. Is it just a matter of faith or does the healer command some objective power? Recent research suggests that in some cases such healers possess a power that can be measured. In “The search for Healing” (Concert programme, 8 o’clock tonight) Dr Dan Benor, an American psychiatrist, is questioned on the topic.
