‘Best-acted film’
“Shoot the Moon.” which starts at thejAcademy to-' morrow, is a harrowing story of a marriage breakup, star-, ring Albert Finney and Diane Keaton. Despite the familiar theme, “Moon" has been acclaimed overseas as a brilliant film on this subject by Alan Parker, the director of "Midnight Express” and “Fame.” It is the intensity of the disintegration of
the relationship, paralleled by the mental breakdown of the husband (Finney), which have received particular critical acclaim. Adrian Turner says in “Film and Filming”: "It is also brilliantly acted and though 'Finney, Keaton (the wife) and Dana Hill (the eldest daughter) are not obviously barnstorming their way to the Oscars; all three deserve them. 'Shoot the Moon’ is the best-acted film
we are likely to see this year."
