La Valaise should score at Invercargill trots today

Special correspondent Invercargill La Vaiaise. obviously right back to his best, is expected to win the Whitehouse Pace, first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Invercargill Trotting Club's meeting today. The talented Parlez Vous gelding regained winning form impressively when he beat Risdon Lea and Blueberry Hill at the Wairio meeting 10 davs ago. On that occasion, he had to be above average, as he was shuffled back five deep on the fence and had to be extricated from a difficult pocket at the 700 m. After showing up wide out on the home turn, he quickly asserted his superiority and won with something in hand. Blueberry Hill, successful two starts back at the Wyndham meeting, is an honest toiler and warrants respect. So does Kamahl. which has paced three splendid races so far this season without having much luck in the running. Rapid Boy. which has done everything except win lately, is the logical choice for the Tiwai Smelters Handicap, second leg of the double. He receives 30m from Trilobal and that might be enough advantage to swing the issue in his favour. The ' country's leading reinsman. Bob Cameron, chasing every opportunity, has six engagements. They are Overpar. Majestic Di. Skipper Dee, Denim, Skipem and Ryal Romeo. Perhaps his best chance of increasing his tally of 34 will be behind Ryal Romeo, a useful type which has drawn handily in the Allan Brown Pace, the third leg of the T.A.B. treble.
