Drug given all-clear
PA Wellington New Zealand hospitals have been given the all-clear on the anaesthetic drug, Alcuronium, which has been withdrawn from use in South Australia. The Health Department had checked every hospital and found none of the suspect batch of the drug, which has been linked with the death of a patient in South Australia, a spokesman said. All use of the Alloferin brand of the drug has been frozen in South Australia after a patient died during surgery.
