Dumping of milk averted
PA Whangarei The threat of milk dumping at Dargaville was averted, at least until Monday, when workers at the Northern Wairoa Co-operative Dairy Company's factory at Mangawhare ended a 24-hour strike yesterday. However, Dairy Workers' Union members will attend a stop-work meeting on Monday morning to discuss the results of further talks with the company management. The strike was called after the union alleged it had had unsatisfactory answers. to issues relating to cleaning duties and wages. Discussions were to be held in Auckland yesterday between union representatives and employers.
