Lincoln’s advice
Sir, — I thought the quote of Abraham Lincoln sent in by E. Mulcock summed things up perfectly. People have got to start realising that when they try to bring down the employer they are ultimately destroying themselves and their own livelihood. When the working man allows himself to be pushed and led into believing that there is class hatred and that
the are trying to exploit him, that is the time for us all to look more closely at who is continually lighting that fire in the rich minds of the working man. Our system at present is not geared up to 'encourage people to help themselves which is contrary to the wise words of Abe Lincoln. What a different country this would be if we were lucky enough to have an Abraham Lincoln in 1982. — Yours, etc., E. T. FORD. November 30, 1982.
