David Stead injured
David Stead has been forced to withdraw from the Canterbury cricket team to play Australian Capital Territory in a three-day match which starts at the Christ’s College grounds tomorrow. Stead suffered severely bruised ribs during his innings of 93 for Canterbury against Otago last Sunday. It was originally feared the
injury might be more serious. On medical advice. Stead decided it would be unwise to take part in a three-day game so soon after the mishap. He will be permitted to continue his club match for Riccarton tomorrow. The twelfth man, David Farrant, has been promoted into the side to oppose A.C.T.
