Student pilot Katrina Gardiner, accompanied by her instructor, flew herself in to attend a Lincoln College Extension Centre seminar for rural women recently. Mrs Gardiner, who was chairwoman of the Mt Herbert County Council, from 1979 to 1981, is now farming with her husband on Eastburn Station, near Arrowtown.
