Sir,—Of all the despicable acts associated with the present Government penny-pinch-ing in education, refusing the dole to students whose parents are deemed able to keep them
must just about take the prize. Whether a parent has money or not is irrelevant. ■ Students qualify for the vote at 18. No fully adult citizen should be forced into dependence on her or his parents. This is intolerable interference and humiliation in the lives of both generations.—Yours, etc., ELSIE LOCKE. November 28, 1982.
