Super-drug on sale in London
NZPALondon London is in the grip of a heroin epidemic, addicts are now--able /to buy a’ super - strength -strain of the drug which is being sold at “rock--bottom prices,” according to the “Standard” newspaper The new variety is reportedly up to 40 per cent proof and more than five times stronger than usual supplies. Users can become addicted within days. A leading London drug counselling centre in the trendy West End says that five out. of every seven addicts seeking help are . victims of heroin — known on the streets as "Smack,” “bigH”or“Henry." This- compares with five years'ago when only one out of every 10 was a heroinaddict, most victims using barbiturates or stimulants. At the Westminster Coroner’s Court this week there have been two inquests on heroin addicts, making a total of six since October 1. Two more are scheduled next week.
