CENTRAL CANTERBURY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD NOTICE TO CONSUMERS THE Board has resolved to add the following requirement to its Conditions of Supply: Condition of Supply No. 10” Where a Consumer’s load exceeds 20 kVA steps must be taken to ensure that the power factor is 0.95 lagging, or better, either by correcting individual motors, welders, or other inductive loads, or by correcting the combined loads of the installation. Inquiries regarding exceptional loads will be considered on their merits. Where the power factor correction capacitors will interfere with the proper operation of ’ the Board's ripple control system, suitable blocking equipment shall be installed. The installation and cost of power factor correction and blocking equipment will be the responsibility of the consumer. For guidance on the Board’s blocking, requirements, see C.C.E.P.B.’s document entitled "Requirements for Blocking of Power Factor Correction Capacitors,” dated February, 1982.
